| Description: |
The Public Affairs Section (PAS) at the U.S. Consulate General Peshawar is pleased to announce a funding opportunity available through the public diplomacy grants program to further Mission Pakistan’s goal to increase the capacity of journalists to protect themselves and others by improving their capacity to provide first aid to the injured until first-responders arrive at the scene. The funds awarded through this opportunity will increase individual journalist’s capabilities to provide self-aid/buddy-aid and provide interventions for two leading causes of death, i.e., severe hemorrhage and inadequate airway, during a violent incident or an emergency. Media professionals are often the first on the scene of terrorist attacks, violent protests, and other events that pose a threat. The aim of this project is to train 80 to 100 media professionals (reporters, photo and video journalists) across the press clubs of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province over a period of six to eight months. The proposal budget should not exceed $30,000 for the entire period of the grant. The project must be designed to meet the needs of the media professionals in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and it will be implemented in KP, including the Newly Merged Districts (NMDs). |
