U.S. Department of State Grant for Bicentennial U.S.-Argentina Relations Small Grants Program Administration

The U.S. Embassy in Argentina Public Affairs Section (PAS) announces an open competition for Argentine non-government, not-for profit institutions or organizations to submit applications to administer the special Bicentennial of U.S.-Argentine Relations Small Grants Program. The Recipient will administer and manage a small grants program that will award sub-grants to projects that celebrate 200 years of bilateral relations and friendship between the United States and Argentina. The Recipient will manage all program administration that includes coordinating and publicizing the open call for proposals for sub-awards, the review and selection of sub-awards with PAS, correspondence with sub-award organizations, managing payments and financial records, overseeing the implementation of the sub-award programs, and management of the monitoring, evaluation, reporting and closeout of the sub-awards.

Based on the guidance and instructions from the Public Affairs Section, the Recipient shall enter into sub-awards with other entities to accomplish projects celebrating 200 years of bilateral relations and friendship. The Recipient is responsible for monitoring and providing oversight of the sub-awardees’ performance, expenditures and reporting. Adequate documentation of the sub-awardees’ compliance with award terms and conditions must be maintained by the Recipient and made available to the Grants Officer (GO) immediately upon request. This includes the sub-award selection methodology and any relevant policies the Recipient has regarding sub-awards and sub-award monitoring.

Purpose of the Bicentennial of U.S.-Argentine Relations Small Grants Program:

The U.S. Department of State will provide funding for the administration of a well-conceived small grant program that celebrates 200 years of bilateral relations between the United States and Argentina and supports U.S. Embassy Buenos Aires strategic priorities in Argentina.

The open call for proposals managed by the Recipient should solicit sub-award projects that celebrate 200 years of bilateral relations and friendship between the United States and Argentina. Sub-award projects should strengthen bilateral ties between the United States and Argentina and include a clear U.S. connection that will promote increased understanding of the United States among the Argentine public. All sub-awards must include a U.S. element or a clear, explicit connection with experts, organizations, or institutions from the United States in a specific field that will promote increased understanding of U.S. policy, values, and perspectives.

Priority Region: Project activities must take place or be initiated in Argentina and be directed towards Argentinian audiences/participants. Priority will be given to projects taking place in underserved, marginalized areas.

Priority Audiences:  

·                 Emerging voices, students, youth; 

·                 Civil society leaders; 

·                 Entrepreneurs; 

·                 Established opinion leaders, including cultural and/or academic institution leadership; 

·                 Residents of Argentine provinces outside of the City of Buenos Aires.
