Additional Information

Agency Name: U.S. Mission to Azerbaijan
Description:

AEIF provides alumni of U.S. government-sponsored and facilitated exchange programs with funding to expand on skills gained during their exchange experience to design and implement innovative solutions to global challenges facing their community. Since its inception in 2011, AEIF has funded nearly 500 alumni-led projects around the world through a competitive global competition. Inspiration can be found at alumni.state.gov/aeif and in the linked pages for Winners and Success Stories in the left column.

This year, AEIF will support the United States’ commitment to “Catalyzing Change: Promoting Social Entrepreneurship as a Vehicle for Economic Development.”

The U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan will accept public service projects proposed and managed by teams of at least two (2) alumni that support themes such as:

Economic Awareness and Education: Projects that raise awareness about key economic challenges facing communities in Azerbaijan. Proposals may include initiatives to educate the public on economic concepts, financial literacy, and opportunities for economic advancement.

Training for Economic Resilience: Projects that provide targeted training programs to enhance the skills of local communities in navigating economic challenges. This could involve workshops, seminars, or skill-building sessions to empower individuals and businesses.

Capacity Building for Sustainable Development: Projects that contribute to the long-term economic development of Azerbaijan by building local capacity. This may involve the establishment of training centers, mentorship programs, or initiatives that foster entrepreneurship and innovation.

Mitigating Economic Effects of Climate Change: Projects that safeguard communities from the negative effects of climate change through assessments of fiscal risks posed by the impacts of climate change, implementation of sustainable and viable alternatives such as green energy, and public awareness campaigns.

Proposals that do not address the theme as outlined in the program objectives will be deemed ineligible. All project activities must take place outside of the United States and its territories.
