The program activities will focus on deepening the participants understanding of key policy initiatives in U.S.-Iraq relations, anti-corruption, accountability and transparency in government, and the role of the press in a democratic society. The program should expose participants to Americas diversity both in the professional and social spheres, provide visits to at least three U.S. cities (including Washington, DC), and include the opportunity for dialogue and/or mentoring with professional American journalists, ideally with a background in international affairs. The total amount of funding for this one-year award will be up to $200,000, pending the availability of funds. |
