| Additional Information on Eligibility: | ● Alumni of U.S. Government-funded or U.S. Government-sponsored exchange programs (https://alumni.state.gov/list-exchange-programs or https://j1visa.state.gov/). ● Project teams must be composed of least three (3) State Department program alumni. ● Alumni who are U.S. citizens may not submit proposals; however, U.S. citizen alumni may participate as team members in a project.● Alumni teams may include alumni from different exchange programs and different countries. ● Applications must be submitted by exchange alumni or alumni associations of USG exchange alumni. Not-for-profit, non-governmental organizations, think tanks, and academic institutions are not eligible to apply in the name of the organization, but they can serve as implementing partners for project activities. |

The Embassy of the United States in Guatemala announces an open competition for alumni (i.e., past participants) of U.S. government-funded and U.S. government-sponsored exchange programs to submit applications to the Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF) for the 2024 cycle. Proposals must be submitted by teams composed of three or more State Department program alumni and must meet all program eligibility requirements as listed below: The U.S. Embassy in Guatemala will review public service projects proposed and managed by teams composed of at least three (3) alumni that support themes such as: ● Mitigating the negative effects of climate change and other environmental degradation. ● Reducing the root causes of irregular migration. ● Promoting the rule of law and ethics, transparency and anticorruption. ● Protecting and supporting human rights. ● Promoting inclusive economic development through training for entrepreneurs. ● Building the capacity of civil society, media, and academia to promote democracy and good governance. |
