Category Explanation: | The Embassy of the United States in Jordan will accept projects proposed and managed by teams of at least (2) alumni from U.S government-funded exchange programs that support themes such as: • Promoting Economic Resilience and Entrepreneurship: Empower diverse groups—including women and youth—by building skills, expanding economic opportunities, and fostering local entrepreneurship. Projects should aim to develop partnerships and create sustainable economic models that drive inclusive growth across communities. • Building Youth Leadership and Civic Participation: Enhance youth engagement in community initiatives and civic life, cultivating leadership skills and supporting projects that respond to community needs. Encouraging dialogue and collaboration within local communities is especially valued. • Advancing Environmental-Sustainability: Address Jordan’s environmental challenges with community-led interventions that support ecosystem stability and that builds environmental resiliency, examples may include sustainable practices, water conservation, and renewable energy solutions. Projects can raise awareness and mobilize local efforts for environmental action. • Strengthening U.S.-Jordan Relations and Sharing American Experiences: Promote awareness of U.S. programs and opportunities, highlighting shared values and strengthening ties between Jordanian communities and the United States. Projects may showcase how Americans engage in decision-making, challenge persistent stereotypes to expand freedoms, and foster new creative industries. Additionally, initiatives could aim to dispel myths and stereotypes about American culture, encouraging Jordanians to learn ways of overcoming limiting barriers through collaboration and shared experiences. |

Additional Information on Eligibility: | The following are eligible to apply: • Applicants must be alumni of U.S. government-funded exchange program (https://alumni.state.gov/list-exchange-programs) or a U.S. government-sponsored exchange program (https://j1visa.state.gov/). • Projects teams must include teams of at least two (2) alumni. Not-for-profit organizations, non-governmental organizations, think tanks, and academic institutions are not eligible to apply. These entities may serve as partners for implementing project activities but not as primary implementers. Individuals who own a private business may not use their organization as a partner to avoid any conflict of interest. |

We welcome proposals from teams consisting of at least two alumni that meet all program eligibility requirements below. Exchange alumni interested in participating in AEIF 2025 should submit proposals to (JordanAlumni@state.gov) by January 20, 2025/ 5:00 p.m. (Amman time). |
