Additional Information
| Agency Name: | U.S. Mission to India |
| Description: | The core objective of this program is to invest in the next generation of Indian leaders and to provide a platform for youth to identify and discuss global political and economic trends related to the U.S.-India bilateral relationship. Additionally, the program goal is to build/create network of leaders and mentors, with whom the U.S. Mission can engage to further strengthen the bilateral relationship, through an exchange of experience, information and expertise. Topics for the project should include, but are not limited to, security, counterterrorism, trade, bilateral investment, science and technology, and education.
The U.S. Embassy in New Delhi proposes a two-day workshop for approximately twenty of North India’s most promising youth leaders, representing student and/or youth wings of multiple political parties, civil society organizations, and the private sector from all the North Indian cities. The program would feature discussions led by U.S. and Indian scholars on contemporary global political and economic trends, while helping to identify and cultivate relationships with emerging leaders supportive of stronger connections to the United States. With a workshop based in a North Indian city, the program would present a productive and efficient opportunity to expand our efforts in developing the Mission’s network of young thought leaders, and establish additional channels to influence India’s political leadership.
