Description: |
The Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi (PAS New Delhi) proposes to implement a project entitled “U.S. Speaker and Specialist Program in India.” This program will connect U.S. experts with Indian audiences and institutions by sending American experts to India to interact with audiences through lectures, workshops, seminars and media engagements. The proposed program will promote understanding of U.S. strategic priorities, policies and institutions and build linkages between U.S. and Indian experts and institutions across India. Speakers will address topics identified by PAS New Delhi, and will be programmed with a variety of professional audiences in a wide range of disciplines. The experts will be expected to travel to minimum 2-3 cites for at least 7-10 days within Mission India, which comprises of New Delhi/North India, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata consulate regions. PAS New Delhi proposes to implement 6-7 speaker programs that provide opportunities for U.S. and Indian experts to interact with the targeted audiences. Programming topics for speaker program should be aligned with the U.S. Mission India programming themes, which include, but are not necessarily limited to:
· Promoting Study in the U.S. and the U.S. Higher Education Partnership in India · U.S.-India Trade/Investment/Entrepreneurship/Business Development · Regional Security and Connectivity to facilitate multi-level cross-border engagement to bring regional economies in South Asia into closer integration · Women’s Empowerment
Based on strategic priority parameters provided by PAS New Delhi, the grantee will research and provide names and bios of U.S.-citizen speakers and experts, who are willing to travel to India, and then organize all necessary logistics including honorarium, travel expenses, lodging expenses, per diem and visas. PAS New Delhi will approve the selection of speakers from a list of candidates provided by the grantee, confirm the program cities and draft program schedules. The grantee will coordinate with PAS New Delhi and the relevant speaker to determine arrival and departure dates and confirm topics/type of program events.
