| Description: | The Public Affairs Section of U.S. Embassy New Delhi (PAS New Delhi) seeks proposals for a project entitled “Civil Society Capacity Building Workshops.” Through this project, a grantee will organize and implement two Civil Society Capacity Building workshops, one in New Delhi and one in another Indian city. The two events will be two days in duration and should focus on bringing together representatives of leading U.S. think tanks, civil society organizations (CSOs), non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and law firms practicing non-profit law to share best practices for enhancing self-governance and transparency, including drafting annual reports, acknowledging sponsor relationships, and pursuing demonstrably conflict-free objectives within the framework of Indian law.
The workshop attendees would ideally include representatives from leading U.S. and Indian CSOs, and legal counsel for large Indian non-profits, as well as delegates from the Ministry of Home Affairs (which oversees CSOs, think tanks, and NGOs in India). The workshops should have one expert from the United States, bolstering the session with other experts recruited on a target-of-opportunity basis. The TOO speakers will be selected from within and outside the alumni community, from India and the U.S. in collaboration with PAS New Delhi.
