Description: The U.S. Embassy Tbilisi Public Affairs Section announces an open competition for a regional tech camp focused on modern media tools. Public and private non-profit organizations may submit proposals to implement a two-day training and workshops in English language. The implementing partner will collaborate with and provide input to the embassy in selecting participants with English language skills, and make all logistical arrangements to support the event, including; secure and book an appropriate and properly equipped venue, confirm adequate WiFi connectivity, arrange and book all air travel for participants and trainers, arrange meals/lodging/transportation for participants and trainers, secure translation services and volunteers as needed. The grant may include funding to support activities in the participants’ home countries that are designed to reinforce and support the skills and linkages acquired during the tech camp. The Embassy will award a grant up to $100,000 dollars to pay for the travel and lodging of all participants and trainers, venue costs, internet connectivity, and follow-on activities. The follow-on activities $20,000-$50,000 may support the camp participants with digital tools and sustain activities after the camp. This funding is part of the overall grant of up to $100,000. Such activities could include technical support, additional training for journalists and media NGOs in the regions, hackathons, or tech-focused youth journalism activities. The Tech Camp training is expected to be completed in June 2016. The grantee may suggest possible Georgian and international trainers for the workshop. The grantee will make all logistical arrangements to support the training, including:○ secure and book an appropriate and properly equipped venue for 60-70 participants – approximately 50 percent of these participants will be from Georgia, the other 50 percent will come from other countries in the region○ guarantee adequate Wi-Fi connectivity.○ arrange and book all air travel for participants and trainers.○ arrange meals/lodging/transportation for participants and trainers.○ secure translation services and site support as needed.The U.S. Embassy will hold an information session on Thursday, March 31, 2016.
