The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is offering this grant to the Nevada Waterfowl Association to continue critical wildlife research. This grant is for the purpose of funding the ‘Greater Sandhill Crane Colt Survival in Northeastern Nevada’ study. The primary objectives are to investigate Sandhill Crane colts’ survival rates on known breeding grounds and identify factors affecting these rates. Researchers will also compare summer range characteristics and contrast any changes with previously described summer breeding, winter, and stopover sites. This is a non-competitive award, and no new applications are being accepted. The Service’s involvement will primarily consist of standard Federal stewardship responsibilities, ensuring project performance monitoring and providing technical assistance as requested.
