The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is offering this grant to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife to support critical avian monitoring initiatives. This grant is for two primary purposes: first, to track the abundance and habitat occupancy of Flammulated Owls, a Bird of Conservation Concern. Data collected will inform management strategies and facilitate tri-national conservation planning for this species. Second, it funds ongoing Peregrine Falcon monitoring in Washington, aligning with the Service’s post-delisting monitoring plan. This funding ensures vital data collection for these significant bird species, contributing to their effective management and conservation efforts within Washington State and supporting broader conservation goals.
