Description: THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD TO A SINGLE SOURCE, AND THERE IS NO FULL ANNOUNCEMENT ASSOCIATED WITH THIS NOTICE. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) intends to award a grant to South Carolina Department of Natural Resources the project will replace sand on the beach at Tybee Island to aid in storm damage reduction. There are two specific objectives related proposed monitoring of this project: (1) Document the impacts and recovery of macrobenthic infaunal communities and sediment characteristics in the sand borrow area and one reference area; and (2) Document the impacts and recovery of benthic infaunal communities and sediment characteristics on the renourished beach.
