The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) is offering grants under the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative to support interjurisdictional projects for Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) management. This grant is for Great Lakes states and tribes (or their designees) to implement competitive projects preventing and controlling AIS within or near the Great Lakes Basin. Eligible activities include outreach, boat ramp inspections, law enforcement, early detection, rapid response, and control efforts, even if conducted outside the basin, provided they substantially contribute to Great Lakes AIS prevention. The primary goal is to fund actions yielding the greatest benefit to the Great Lakes Basin. Note: Invasive carp work must be vetted through the Invasive Carp Regional Coordinating Committee’s action plan.
