This is a single-source announcement for a cooperative agreement between the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (Service) and the State of New Mexico Energy, Minerals, and Natural Resource Department (EMNRD) to provide for the use of inmate crews in natural resources public works programs on the Services Sevilleta National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) in an effort to improve the natural resources and health of wildlife populations and their habitats and maintain refuge facilities.
The Service is engaged in a wide range of resource management responsibilities focused on the conservation of wildlife and fish on Service lands. It is to EMNRDs and the Services mutual benefit to assist and cooperate in a program of improving natural resources conservation on public lands in New Mexico and doing such work with inmate crews. The crews shall assist the Service in fuel reduction, water delivery infrastructure, habitat enhancement, and facility maintenance. |
