Additional Information

Agency Name: U.S. Mission to India
Description: Connecting South Asian Association for a Regional Cooperation (SAARC) partners is a key Mission goal, however the logistics of holding a conference within the region itself are prohibitive. Mission India plans to follow the model created in 2014 of sending regional leaders to the U.S. We plan to send a group of 15 SAARC participants on a three week, in-depth study-tour of the U.S. Designed to be very similar to an International Visitor Leadership Program, the trip will focus on regional connectivity, with a special emphasis on economic cooperation. Three young leaders (28-35 years old) from major political parties from each of the five major South Asian countries (India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka) will be nominated by respective U.S .Embassies in these South Asian countries to participate in this program.
