Description: The United States Department of State, Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs (WHA) announces a Notification of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to support the development of a Summit of the Americas civil society coordination mechanism with up to $990,099 in FY2014 Economic Support Funds for a project period not to exceed three years. The anticipated start date for this activity is September 2015 and one award is anticipated as a result of this NOFO.The purpose of this WHA-funded project is to establish and implement a formal mechanism for civil society participation in the Summit of the Americas process. The formal coordination mechanism will initiate and facilitate a robust forum for civil society from across the region; coordinate and lead formal engagement with leaders at the Summits of the Americas, in consultation with the host government; formally submit input to the host government and the Summit Implementation Review Group (SIRG) throughout the Summit process in coordination with the Organization of American States; and monitor and evaluate stakeholder commitments and outcomes of the Summit.
