Additional Information on Eligibility: | Eligibility for this NOFO is not restricted. Eligible organizations include: registered U.S. and non-U.S. private non-governmental organizations; registered U.S. and non-U.S. non-profit organizations.Types of organizations could include foundations, faith-based organizations (FBOs), community-based organizations (CBOs), private organizations affiliated with public academic institutions and international non-governmental organizations, private companies, professional associations, and other international and indigenous organizations. Local partnership consortiums comprising any of the above are also encouraged to apply.USAID defines a “local entity” as an individual, a corporation, a nonprofit organization, or another body of persons that: 1. Is legally organized under the laws of;2. Has as its principal place of business or operations in;3. Is majority owned by individuals who are citizens or lawful permanent residents of; and4. Is managed by a governing body the majority of who are citizens or lawful permanent residents of the country receiving assistance. For purposes of this section, ‘majority owned’ and ‘managed by’ include, without limitation, beneficiary interests and the power, either directly or indirectly, whether exercised or exercisable, to control the election, appointment, or tenure of the organization’s managers or a majority of the organization’s governing body by any means. Description: |
Federal Award Information The purpose of this activity is to provide direct HIV services to attain epidemic control and sustained reduction in HIV transmission, morbidity, and mortality among focus clients (FCs) and other priority populations. This activity will provide HIV services in healthcare facilities and surrounding communities in targeted provinces in the DR. Initial provinces include Santo Domingo, Monte Plata, San Pedro de Macoris, and La Romana. At the national level, the activity will have a proactive role in relevant technical working groups to ensure that the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and Government of the DR (GoDR) strategic priorities and guidelines are appropriately implemented. Results framework By the end of the award, the activity purpose will be achieved through measurable progress in the following key results:
