Amendment 000001 to Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) # 72011421RFA00003 Civil Society Engagement Activity in Georgia

The purposes of this Amendment are, to:

a) Provide Answers to Questions from the potential applicants, found in Attachment 1 to this Amendment.

b) Revise the NOFO # 72011421RFA00003 Civil Society Engagement Activity in Georgia; the revised NOFO is found in Attachment 2 to this amendment, with revisions highlighted.

c) Provide the Local Compensation Plan Summary, found in Attachment 3 to this Amendment.

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission to Georgia (USAID/Georgia) is seeking applications for a Cooperative Agreement from the qualified entities to implement the Civil Society Engagement Activity in Georgia. Eligibility for this award is not restricted. 

USAID intends to make an award to the applicant(s) who best meets the objectives of this funding opportunity based on the merit review criteria described in this NOFO subject to a risk assessment. Eligible parties interested in submitting an application are encouraged to read this NOFO thoroughly to understand the type of program sought, application submission requirements and selection process.

Any questions concerning this Notice of Funding Opportunity should be submitted in writing to Maya Chelidze, Sr. Acquisition and Assistance Specialist at mchelidze@usaid.gov and rcocaucasus@usaid.gov. This Synopsis is issued for the purpose of providing stakeholders an opportunity to review and provide comments on the attached draft Program Description. If you would like to provide comments, please submit no more than two pages of comments no later than January 5, 2021 via email to mchelidze@usaid.gov.

This Synopsis is issued solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a Notice Of Funding Opportunity (NOFO). All interventions taking place under the activity will directly contribute to building the legitimacy and sustainability of the civil society sector. The activity has three objectives:

(1) Enhance the capacity of CSOs, including new formal and informal civic groups, movements and individuals, to address citizen identified issues at the local, regional and national levels and mobilize domestic resources;

(2) Foster effective intra-sectoral partnerships among local, regional and national level civil society entities;

(3) Develop an ecosystem for financial viability – of which philanthropy is a cornerstone – and promote long term self-reliance of the sector.
