USDA Foreign Agricultural Service Grant for African Plant Health System Enhancement

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) is offering this grant to enhance cross-border plant health systems across Africa. This grant is for the purpose of developing and operationalizing robust continental Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) systems. FAS, a USDA trade agency focused on promoting U.S. agricultural exports and liberalizing global agricultural trade, has a long-standing collaboration with the African Union (AU). Through this initiative, USDA will continue partnering with the AU, including the Regional Plant Protection Organization (RPPO) and the African Union Inter-African Phytosanitary Council (AU-IAPSC), to strengthen Africa’s plant protection capabilities and facilitate a rules-based trading environment.
