Additional Information on Eligibility:: This is a Notice of Intent to award a Single Source Cooperative agreement to University of Wyoming for the purpose of continuing a baseline inventory of Bowdoin National Wildlife Refuge Complex uplands to determine abundance and overall health of current vegetation state. This Single Source Award is being awarded in accordance with Department of the Interior Policy 505 DM 2.14 B (1) Unsolicited Proposal and (5) Emergencies, which allows for award without competition to an applicant. This recipient and project meet this criteria due to the fact this University one of few schools close to the Refuge Complex that has a degree in Range Science. By focusing on Universities with this degree and within similar habitat to the Refuge, it is better made certain that students hired are knowledgeable and capable of the work at hand. The skill set needed for vegetation identification is critical in ensuring high quality data, of which is found in students trained in Range Science.

Description:: Applicants will be selected by both Bowdoin NWR and University of Wyoming Staff, with hiring done by the University of Wyoming. The two range technicians will be overseen by both the University and USFWS personnel ensuring quality and quantity of work conducted. They will be tasked with field data collection and entry, and the start of data analysis. Field data will be done utilizing the belt transect method, and include Robel pole readings and litter depth.
