This grant is for the purpose of assisting the USFWS in evaluating non-invasive methods to count and study adult Pacific lampreys (*Entosphenus tridentatus*) passage behavior at dams within the lower Columbia River. The research will involve a comprehensive evaluation of the effectiveness of underwater video technology combined with automated enumeration software. This will allow for the observation and documentation of behavior of adult lamprey migrants at and near established count stations located at The Dalles and John Day dams in the Columbia River, USA. The goal is to enhance monitoring techniques for this vital species.
