Description: U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Eastern Ecological Science Center, is offering a funding opportunity to partner of the Cooperative Ecosystems Studies Unit (CESU) Program for research into the utilization of structured decision making science to manage disease on the landscape at a scale that incorporates complex and interrelated biological, physical, and social resources. The anticipated data and outcomes resulting from the project could be used to understand transmission dynamics of avian influenza, will have application in epidemiologic models of disease to identify target areas for control and will provide decision support for managers in terms of identifying long-term monitoring and surveillance priorities for outbreak detection and response planning.
