Additional Information

Agency Name: Geological Survey
Description: USGS is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU participant for a research project to identify how climate and land-use change will impact the vulnerability of fish habitat at national, regional, and local scales. The goal of this project is to provide land use projection maps on 1 x 1 km scale that can be integrated with projections of climate change. Land use projection maps from this project will be generated initially for the Great Lakes states, but eventually for the entire lower 48 states. Results from this project will be used to determine the biological responses of fishes to these changes. This project relies on the on-going work of the partnership-driven National Fish Habitat Action Plan’s (NFHAP) national assessment of fish habitat, to incorporate global climate change models and predicted land-use change to the Nation’s aquatic systems. Funding provided under this project will be used to develop the national scale integration of on-going fish habitat assessment and climate change and land-use predictions.
