Additional Information

Agency Name: Geological Survey
Description: The US Geology Survey, Water Mission Area (WMA), Next Generation Water Observing System (NGWOS), is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner for research and development in the field of camera-based water monitoring technology. The application of camera-based monitoring methods that integrate image analysis and artificial intelligence techniques is of interest to NGWOS. A coordinated system of hardware and software is needed but nothing exists commercially that meets the needs of the water monitoring community. A camera-based water monitoring system that is scalable to a national monitoring network would meet NGWOS’s mission of implementing innovative monitoring technologies and methods within the USGS and throughout the water monitoring community.
