This grant is for the purpose of supporting the implementation of priority recovery actions for federally endangered and threatened species. Offered by a wildlife conservation department, this funding opportunity emphasizes the critical role of recovery plans as central tools for guiding each species’ recovery process. These plans define the point at which Endangered Species Act (ESA) protections are no longer needed, identify the most effective and feasible recovery actions, and provide overall estimates of the time and cost for species recovery. The grant also aids in measuring success and resource needs, fostering collaboration to improve the status of imperiled species towards their long-term survival.
