| Description: | This funding opportunity is for conducting efforts to stabilize, increase population trends, and reintroduce Mitchell’s satyr butterfly (Neonympha mitchellii mitchellii), listed under the Endangered Species Act of 1973, as amended (Act), and occurs within the Great Lakes Watershed of the United States. Reintroduction sites occur in Michigan and Indiana and involve refining husbandry techniques and conducting captive rearing and reintroduction efforts for Mitchell’s satyr.
This is a notice of intent to award a single source cooperative agreement to Toledo Zoo without competition under justification 505DM 2.14.B.4. Competition for this award is not practical as the recipient is uniquely qualified to perform the activities of the project based on a variety of factors. The selected recipient has been chosen for meeting the following merit requirements: possession of qualifications sufficient to conduct the proposed activities or ability to obtain them; experience conducting this type of work; adequate resources to carry out the proposed activities or ability to procure them; understanding of project goals to implement the work in a manner that achieves service goals; and a track record of adequately completing projects and providing reports in a timely manner. |
