Additional Information on Eligibility: The University of Malawi was established under the University of Malawi Act of Parliament of 1964. The University of Malawi’s College of Medicine is the only medical school in Malawi that trains doctors and is accredited to award medical degrees. The college offers four programs in the Faculty of Medicine: Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), BSc. Health Management, Masters of Public Health (MPH) and clinical specialization training (Masters of Medicine, MMed).

Description: The purpose of this FOA in Malawi is to increase the production and quality of University of Malawi College of Medicine graduates with competencies to provide and manage high-impact integrated HIV care and treatment services and mitigate the chronic shortage of critical health workers, through 1) improving the quality of pre-service and post-graduate education, including continuing medical education through curriculum review and development, faculty development and provision of teaching materials, 2) strengthening integrated HIV service delivery at clinical practicum sites with a focus on improving linkage and retention in care, referral systems, and improving the quality of HIV treatment and care through direct support; 3) building capacity in implementation science to improve the translation of evidence-based approaches to inform the national HIV policy, clinical, and operational guideline development and revision.
