The Family and Youth Services Bureau (FYSB) is offering this grant to address critical issues faced by runaway and homeless youth. Authorized by the Runaway and Homeless Act, the Basic Center Program (BCP) provides a vital alternative for young people who might otherwise become entangled in law enforcement, child welfare, mental health, or juvenile justice systems. This grant enables recipients to establish and operate BCPs that deliver essential services. Each Basic Center Program funded must offer a safe and appropriate shelter environment, alongside comprehensive support services. These include individual, family, and group counseling, tailored to the specific needs of the youth. Additionally, successful applicants will be required to provide crucial aftercare services, ensuring continued support and stability for these vulnerable individuals as they transition towards more secure futures.
