The Cooperative Endangered Species Conservation Fund offers Traditional Conservation Grants to support states’ programs in conserving and recovering threatened and endangered species under the Service’s jurisdiction. This grant program provides financial assistance for projects directly benefiting federally listed, candidate, at-risk, and recently delisted species. States are eligible to apply for funding to conduct conservation work on resident species covered by their cooperative agreement, and to monitor candidate or recently delisted species. Proposed projects may encompass management, research, monitoring, and outreach activities. Applications must clearly demonstrate how the work contributes to species recovery or prevents the need for future listings under the Endangered Species Act. Successful proposals will show a direct positive impact on the species or their habitats.
