Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU) Program. CESU¿s are
partnerships that provide research, technical assistance, and
education. Eligible recipients must be a participating partner of the
South Florida Caribbean Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit
(CESU) Program.

Description: The USGS Wetland and Aquatic Research Center, Davie,
Florida is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU
partner for research in implementation of monitoring
methods necessary for evaluation of ecosystem restoration
on threatened crocodile populations. Protection of
biological diversity has been identified at the global,
national, state, and local levels as a critical component
of protecting native ecosystems. Effective protection of
an area’s ecological integrity involves having the
ability to evaluate and monitor effects of restoration
and management. This project is designed to assist in
specific DOI science needs and to provide tools necessary
for evaluation and assessment of ecosystem restoration.
